Lunar Block Party and Educational Event

Purchase a wristband for the educational station hours 1-3pm

Open house style activities from 3 – 5 pm.

Parking passes are required for each vehicle (max 8 passenger).  No commercial vehicles.  Please indicate the total number of attendees when purchasing a parking pass.  Themed games and crafts available for all participants.  Snacks and other vendor items will be available for purchase.  

Educational Activity Wristbands include participation in each of the educational stations from 1- 3 pm.  All activities are family friendly, but will have a focus on middle elementary education.  The educational stations will focus on viewing safety (viewing glasses included), science, and historical connections in art and stories around solar eclipses.  Each station includes a guided activity and/or supplies for take home activities.  For accurate supplies needed, please purchase a wristband for each person that will be participating in the station activities.  

3 – 5 pm will run open house style. Come to check out the space, get some glasses, and do some fun eclipse activities (while supplies last).

Space is limited.  Registration is confirmed when payment is received.  Registration will close once capacity has been met.  

No student/child drop off all- under 18 attendees must be accompanied by an adult.

Inclement weather Notice.  

Due to the event/parking being held outdoors on grassy areas, accommodations may have to be made if the ground will not adequately support cars across the entirety of the grassy areas.  Those decisions will be made and communicated as early as information about weather will allow.  Those decisions will be based on information provided by the National Weather Service at the discretion of Hilltop and communicated as early as information about weather will allow.

Totally Awe-SUN Solar Eclipse Experience - Watch Party 

April 8, 2024

Parking and Activities 12 pm - 2:45 pm, 3 - 3:30 pm Quiet time for totality viewing, 

Post Party and exit 3:45 - 6 pm

Parking passes are required for each vehicle (max 8 passenger). No commercial vehicles allowed. Please indicate the total number of attendees when purchasing a parking pass.

Themed activities and games available for all participants. Snacks and other vendor items will be available for purchase.

Space is limited.  Registration is confirmed when payment is received.  Registration will close once capacity has been met.

No student/child drop off – under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Standard parking spots are for parking only. For safety, please do not plan to set up chairs in these areas. Designated viewing areas will be marked. Limited seating will be available, bringing your own camp chairs/blankets is encouraged.

Tailgate spots are large enough to accommodate more personal items. You are welcome to set up and watch from your spot as well as participate in the activities at the Pavilion. Feel Free to bring food, camp chairs/blankets,10 x 10 or smaller pop up tents, or camp games. Please be considerate of others by not arriving/leaving between 2:45 pm – 3:45 pm, not having campfires/grills/large generators, not idling your car. April is always a guessing game when it comes to weather in Indiana (fyi – record High being 91 degrees and record low being 15 degrees). However, warming up/cooling down stations will be available if necessary.   

Inclement weather Notice  

While the effects of the total solar eclipse will be visible in some ways regardless of the weather, in the event of inclement weather, a streamed viewing on a big screen under the pavilion will be available.  Due to the event/parking being held outdoors on grassy areas, accommodations may have to be made if the ground will not adequately support cars across the entirety of the grassy areas.  In that event, tailgating spots will be moved to the standard parking area and the event will continue as a group at the pavilion only.  Those decisions will be based on information provided by the National Weather Service at the discretion of Hilltop and communicated as early as information about weather will allow.
